Oh my God, it’s absolutely unbelievable: A two-year-old dog suffered such severe necrosis on its snout that even the bone was exposed, leaving everyone horrified and heartbroken

Upon receiving news about the dog with its muzzle tied, the rescue team from Saigon rushed to Ben Tre on the night of July 23rd.

Recently, the rescue of a emaciated dog whose muzzle was wrapped in tape to the point of necrosis went viral on social media and became a focal point of attention online. The initial appeal for help to find the dog, posted by Nguyen Thanh Dien (23 years old, Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province) on his personal page, attracted 20,000 likes and over 3,000 shares.

Upon receiving the information, the  “Family of the Baby” group  (which works to protect and provide homes for stray, sick, and abandoned animals) arranged for 9 members to travel by motorbike, bringing the best medical supplies, to rescue the poor dog. Ms. Thu Dang, the group leader, said: “Besides our group, the ARC organization also traveled to Ben Tre to help the dog, so we decided to cooperate.” At 11 PM on July 21st, following a report that the dog was in Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the group split into two teams – one team of 6 members traveled by motorbike and 2 ARC members traveled by car to Ben Tre, while the other team of 4 went to Sa Dec.

At 5:00 AM on July 22nd, the entire group began their search. By 9:00 AM, Julia arrived in Ben Tre and, along with Louis (from the ARC organization), searched for the dog on a motorbike, from the grasslands to the dog meat restaurants in the surrounding area. After three hours of searching a fairly large area, they still had no trace of their “little friend.” The group returned to Saigon, with only two members remaining until 3:30 PM.

At 9 PM, Ms. Thu Dang received information from Mr. Thanh Dien that the villagers had captured the dog and brought it home in critical condition. Once again, the emergency rescue team set off for Ben Tre at 1 AM (July 23rd).

According to Thu Dang, all the members of the group burst into tears when they witnessed firsthand the suffering the dog, which was only about 1-2 years old, had to endure.

Afterward, the veterinarian diligently administered first aid, gave IV fluids and injections, and tried to remove the tape from the dog’s muzzle.

When the tape was removed, the “little friend’s” snout was almost just bone. “At that time, the dog was in a condition where survival was unlikely,” Thu Dang shared.

The poor dog was quickly disinfected and carefully bandaged by the doctors.

That same night,  the family  put the dog in a cardboard box and took it back to Saigon.

Upon arrival, the dog was taken to a clinic in District 2 for a veterinarian to monitor its health.

People affectionately nicknamed this dog Lucky. It’s believed the tape on Lucky’s muzzle was applied by slaughterhouse workers to prevent the dog from howling during the slaughtering process. The rescue team shared that Lucky’s health hasn’t improved much.
