Just because it accidentally ate one of the neighbor’s chickens, the dog was brutally beaten to death on the spot. The heartbreaking moment when its owner carried the dog’s lifeless body home left everyone in tears.

Recently, a story circulated on social media about a man who allegedly beat his neighbor’s dog to death by hitting it on the head, then saying, “If the dog ate the chicken, then butcher it, why are you crying?” This sparked outrage among many. What is the truth behind this incident?

Accordingly, a Facebook account posted on their personal page recounting the story of their dog being beaten to death by a neighbor. Along with the image, the account also posted a video of them carrying the dog’s carcass back from the neighbor’s house.

In the more than two-minute clip, the dog’s owner is seen wailing repeatedly, while the dog is covered in blood from its mouth and head, its eyes wide open. When the woman questions the man, saying, “I loved this dog like family, and you killed it,” she replies, “If the dog ate the chicken, then we should butcher it. Why are you crying?” The dog initially wagged its tail but then died.

The image of the dog lying in a pool of blood with its eyes wide open in the video shared by Ms. T. has angered many people.

The post quickly garnered attention with over 70,000 interactions, 81,000 comments, and 25,000 shares. The majority of netizens expressed outrage at the man for locking the door and then killing the dog.

According to the poster, the neighbor who killed her dog was a neighbor. From there, netizens quickly found the man’s information and phone number. However, the number is currently unreachable. User Tryle Huỳnh commented: “I don’t understand why people can act like this. If it’s true, it’s too barbaric.” User Minh Lê expressed outrage: “Animals should also be treated fairly. To some, they might mean nothing, but to others, they are considered family. I also love dogs and cats, so I understand how this person feels.”

“I expect an apology.”

According to Thanh Nien ‘s investigation , the person who posted the article is Ms. LTCT (22 years old, residing in Gung Re commune, Di Linh district, Lam Dong province). Recounting the incident to the reporter, Ms. T. said that the event occurred on October 24th. Her dog, named Ten, was normally carefully chained up, but that day the leash came loose, allowing Ten to run away.

“Normally, if the leash comes loose, Ten runs back very quickly, but that day he was nowhere to be seen. My dad called out loudly, but Ten didn’t come back. When my dad went to look for him, he looked inside the neighbor’s gate and saw the neighbor locking the gate, holding an iron bar. When he got home, my dad heard the sound of the iron bar hitting something, so he looked inside the neighbor’s house again and saw the neighbor holding the iron bar, with the dog lying on the floor,” she said.

Reportedly, Ms. T. is currently studying in Ho Chi Minh City. Her family adopted the dog in May when she returned to her hometown to avoid the pandemic . Ms. T.’s entire family cherishes Ten and considers him a member of the family.

Because her house is currently under renovation, the camera in Ms. T.’s yard is temporarily out of service. The claim she posted on social media about her dog chasing Mr. B.’s chickens is based on what she heard from Mr. B., but she has no concrete evidence to support it.

Following the incident, Ms. T. contacted the People’s Committee of the commune to request access to the security camera footage on the road, but has not yet received it. At the same time, Ms. T. also worked with the Gung Ré Commune Police regarding the incident.

As an animal lover, Ms. T. confided that since the incident, she has stopped eating and suffered severe physical weakness, requiring intravenous fluids. “I was very shocked, and the incident has had a huge impact on my health and mental state. Even now, I still can’t forget the image of Ten covered in blood,” she said, her voice choked with emotion.

Ms. T. further shared that she only wanted an apology from the neighbor who killed her dog, but more than a week has passed since the incident, and her neighbor has remained silent and repeatedly demanded that she remove the post and images from social media.

Speaking with a reporter from Thanh Nien newspaper, the leader of Gung Re commune, Di Linh district, confirmed that the incident occurred and that both sides had filed complaints requesting clarification. The commune representative stated that they received a complaint from Ms. T. regarding the death of her pet dog by her neighbor, while the other family requested that the authorities address Ms. T.’s posting of personal images on social media without their consent and that the matter had not yet been clarified. Because the case exceeded the commune’s jurisdiction, the file was transferred to the Di Linh district police for further investigation.
