Donald Trump speaks out for the first time about the sho:o::ting at the Islamic center in California — and what he said surprised many people
Police have confirmed that the shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego in San Diego on May 18 left three people dead.
“We received reports of an active shooting at the Islamic Center. Within four minutes, officers arrived at the scene and immediately found three victims deceased,” said Scott Wahl, according to AFP.
Police also confirmed that one of the victims was a security guard working at the Islamic Center of San Diego (ICSD).

Outside the center, officers discovered a vehicle parked in the street containing the bodies of two suspects, aged 17 and 19.
Helicopter footage showed heavily armed tactical teams surrounding the area, while one unidentified victim was seen lying in a pool of blood.
Dozens of police vehicles lined the streets around the ICSD, which is described on its official website as the largest mosque in San Diego County, southern California.

After briefly ordering residents to shelter in place, San Diego Police Department later announced that the threat at the mosque had been neutralized.
Taha Hassane stated that all staff members, teachers, and children inside the mosque were safe.
“We have never experienced a tragedy like this before… Targeting a place of worship is unbelievably cruel,” Hassane said.
Gavin Newsom was briefed on the attack. His office released a statement on X thanking first responders and urging residents to follow local authorities’ instructions.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump described the shooting as a “horrible situation.”

“I’ve received some initial briefings, but we will review everything carefully and investigate thoroughly,” Trump told reporters.
According to CNN, law enforcement officials revealed that one suspect reportedly took a firearm from his parents’ home and left behind a suicide note containing racist statements. Investigators also found hateful messages written on one of the guns used in the attack.
