Outrage erupted over a series of horrifying images showing dogs being brutally abused and then posted on social media as if they were “achievements.” From choking dogs and lifting them into the air to threatening to smash their heads with a concrete weight, the disturbing acts left everyone furious and deeply disturbed.
On November 2nd, netizens discovered four disturbing images posted on Facebook by Hoa Phu Thanh showing several young men using their hands to choke a dog and lifting it high into the air. Furthermore, these young men threatened to smash the dog’s head with a concrete weight.
Two of the images, posted on the afternoon of October 14th, show the man strangling the dog with one hand and the other with two hands, accompanied by a caption indicating the dog was dead. Two other images, posted on the afternoon of October 16th, show the man threatening to smash the dog’s head with a concrete weight, describing it as the third day of the dog’s abuse.
These images have caused outrage among netizens, who have strongly condemned this barbaric act.
After photos of the dog being abused went viral on social media, many young people noticed that the two young men in the pictures were wearing the uniforms of employees of Hoa Phu Thanh Tourism Exploitation and Development Joint Stock Company’s waterfall resort.
Mr. Chu Van Khiet, Director of Hoa Phu Thanh Tourism Exploitation and Development Joint Stock Company, confirmed that the incident involved three male employees of the waterfall sliding tourist area.
Mr. Khiet stated that the dog in the picture belonged to a female employee of the company. When she took leave to go on vacation, the male employees at home played with the dog, took pictures, and posted them on Facebook with the intention of teasing her.
However, on November 2nd, the incident caused a stir again when a Facebook user named Hoa Phu Thanh posted these pictures along with heartless descriptions such as “feeling excited,” “strangling to death,” and “butchering to entertain honored guests,” which angered many people.
Mr. Khiet affirmed that Hoa Phu Thanh Tourism Exploitation and Development Joint Stock Company only has one Facebook page, Hoa Phu Thanh Tourist, and the Facebook page Hoa Phu Thanh, created on October 31st, does not belong to the company, and the company is currently clarifying this matter.
Mr. Chu Van Khiet said he would instruct his staff to remove the offensive images that had been posted and apologize on their personal Facebook pages. He also stated that he would discipline the staff involved in the incident where they threatened to smash a dog’s head and then posted the image on Facebook, causing a public outcry.
