“Tears fell” at the heartbreaking sight of a small dog buried alive on the beach by its owner. Its legs were covered in wounds and cuts, leaving everyone who saw it unable to hold back their emotions.
Leialoha, meaning “beloved child” or “little dog,” was buried alive on a Hawaiian beach by her own owner, along with numerous signs of abuse on her body.
The “little dog” is currently receiving treatment and care at the Hawaii Animal Rescue Organization (PAWS). Leialoha was found with numerous injuries after a successful rescue following her burial alive on a Hawaiian beach by her own owner. According to the New York Post, PAWS stated that the dog’s owner even used a machete to inflict cuts on Leialoha before burying her alive.
The dog had multiple cuts on its legs, indicating that its owner had abused it before attempting to kill it.
After rescuing the dog from West Oahu beach on July 9th and bringing it to their care, the organization’s medical professionals named the dog Leialoha, which means “beloved child.”
Leialoha means “beloved child” in Hawaiian.
According to PAWS CEO Kuithulei Durand: ” He, the owner of ‘the girl,’ even intended to start slitting Leialoha’s throat but failed. Leialoha was in such a terrible and severely injured condition that every centimeter of her body bled during her first bath after being rescued. She suffered severe burns, sunburn, and lost 90% of her hair . Her skin, if you could smell it, was foul-smelling due to the numerous infected sores. He, the owner of ‘the girl,’ tried every way to torture and even kill Leialoha to satisfy his pleasure and to end his suffering.”
Durand added, ” Leialoha is so strong and amazing for overcoming and fighting to survive each day. Luckily, luck has smiled upon Leialoha as she has received the love of her foster mother and a new home in Amanda.”
Leialoha bled from every inch of her body during her first bath after being rescued. But now she has found a new home filled with love.
Amanda posted on Facebook, ” My heart is broken and I know Leialoha needs us to nurture her. Leialoha has a long way to go, but the worst is over ,” to reassure online viewers who were shocked by what Leialoha had to endure at the hands of her former owner.
Leialoha’s former owner remains unidentified; however, it is difficult to apprehend this man because the law requires evidence such as video or photographic proof of animal abuse.
The law cannot intervene because there is no evidence recording any abusive behavior from the dog’s owner.
