After being “forgotten” by its owner for two weeks in the garden, starving and exhausted, the dog in Ha Giang was fortunately rescued by a neighbor and brought to Hanoi for further care and treatment.
Recently, a story shared on social media about a poor little dog that was “forgotten” by its owner for two weeks caused a stir. It wasn’t until the dog was starving and exhausted, collapsing in a corner of the garden, that the owner remembered and called a neighbor to pick it up.
On the fan page of a group dedicated to rescuing abandoned dogs and cats, they shared, “This poor Samoyed dog was ‘forgotten’ by an owner in Ha Giang for two weeks. It lived in a garden without food or water until it was exhausted and collapsed.”
Heartbreaking images of a dog exhausted from being starved for two weeks, coupled with the owner’s insensitive remarks, have sparked outrage.
The final act of kindness this dog received, and perhaps its last stroke of luck, was when its owner suddenly remembered its existence, looked at it, and, fearing its foul smell, called a neighbor to offer it a place to stay, saying, “If you can save it, take it in… or do whatever you want with it because it stinks so much.”
Sometimes there are truly unbelievable stories about how people treated their former pets, but sadly, they are true.
The poor dog was taken in by T., who tried her best to care for and treat it, and contacted the “Dog Swamp” group. Then, in the quickest and best possible journey, T. sent the dog to Hanoi to be urgently taken to the hospital for emergency treatment, because the dog’s chances of survival were very slim, while the local veterinary facility was not yet equipped to accurately diagnose and treat it.

The poor Samoyed puppy was almost completely unconscious when the vehicle carrying her arrived at the veterinary hospital in Hanoi. Currently, she is still receiving intensive care at the 2vet Ha Dong veterinary hospital, and although the chances are slim, we still hope for a miracle.”
The post included a picture of a small, white, but ragged puppy that had been neglected by its owner, starving and thirsty for days, lying weak and unable to move around. When rescued, the puppy was constantly trembling, in poor health, and looked incredibly pitiful.

The story of the puppy being carelessly and irresponsibly abandoned by its owner has sparked outrage among many people.
“I’ve had a cat for two years, but I feel so sorry for it if it just stops eating. Some people are so strange; if they don’t care for their pets, they shouldn’t have them. They care for them so badly. I hope the dog can recover and find a loving family,” shared user YN.
“Oh my God, seeing the puppy lying slumped next to an empty bowl with not a drop of water or a grain of rice, slowly dying, how heartless. If you can’t take care of it, then don’t keep it. Once you’ve taken it in, you must be responsible, this is so cruel. I hope the puppy will be saved,” another person shared.
