After abusing an injured Corgi and throwing it into a washing machine, the young man accused of animal cruelty was hunted down across social media. Everyone who watched the video was left absolutely outraged

In a controversial video posted on the social media platform Xiaohongshu, a corgi dog can be seen being thrown into a washing machine drum full of water. The person filming nonchalantly raises their hand in a V-sign (a victory symbol) and then presses the start button on the washing machine. 

With nothing to hold onto, the little dog was spun around in the swirling water for a long time.  Not stopping there, the young man then poured hot water and soap all over the dog, even into its injured eyes, ignoring the poor animal’s desperate cries. After being tossed around in the washing machine for a while, the dog’s face showed pain and confusion, but it still tried to escape. Unfortunately, all its efforts were in vain.

This person also proudly “boasted about their achievement” of breaking the dog’s teeth, claiming they injured the small animal’s eye area to the point of bleeding. Furthermore, numerous bloodstains were found on the floor of the animal abuser’s room, and the corgi was not the only dog ​​in the room. 

On the morning of August 17th, some members of a dog-loving group in China discovered this clip and immediately reported it to the social media platform, but received no response. Shortly afterward, the clip disappeared from the site, and the account that posted it was deleted (or hidden).

According to some netizens, based on the images and the location tag “European small town” in the clip, it can be inferred that the incident occurred at Shangqiu Academy, Shangqiu City, Henan Province, China. Upon receiving the report, Shangqiu Academy launched an investigation but has yet to find out the truth. An admissions officer from the academy stated that it is currently impossible to confirm whether the account holder is a student of the school.

Ms. Tu, a member of a dog lovers’ group, shared that in 2019, the aforementioned account posted a makeup tutorial and identified itself as a second-year student. The account’s second post featured an image of an adult corgi, with the location “European Town,” which she identified as a student cafeteria at Shangqiu Academy. According to Ms. Tu, the video clip also features a girl’s laughter, while the hand in the clip appears to belong to a boy. Therefore, many suspect this animal abuse was committed by a young couple.

Representatives from Shangqiu Academy stated that the school has reported the incident to the police and is cooperating with authorities to investigate and identify the person who created the controversial video. However, due to the complex situation of the pandemic in Shangqiu, and the fact that police forces are focusing all their efforts on combating the epidemic, the person who disseminated the video on social media has not yet been found. The school representatives believe that this individual not only acted cruelly but was also extremely cunning. On the morning of August 19th, the account even posted a picture of the school’s dormitory, locating it as Shangqiu Academy, with the message: “Wishing all new students in the school’s dormitory a good mood!”

The incident has sparked outrage among Chinese netizens. The entire Chinese online community is in an uproar, sharing posts calling for the identification of the perpetrators of this brutal animal abuse: “If you can’t love animals, then don’t torture them like that!”, “If you don’t want to keep them, give them away, how can you be so heartless?”, “Is the little dog still alive? It’s so pitiful, I can’t bear to watch the rest of the clip.”, “Whoever filmed a clip like this should be treated the same way to see how it feels.”, “Quickly find these cruel people and make them pay the price!”, “Please find a way to save that poor dog!”…
